Ready or Not, He’s Coming

Romans 14:11-12
“…every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”

These are two of the most eye opening verses in all of God’s Word. Just the thought that one day we will all stand before God and give account for our life here on earth should change the way we live. I remember playing my favorite childhood game, Hide and Seek. When the person was done counting, you could always here them scream, “Ready or not, here I come.” One day, that is exactly what the God of Heaven will do. He will come, ready or not. The question is will you be ready. If He were to come back today, would you be ready. Have your actions today pleased the Lord. Would you be ashamed of what you have watched this week on TV, looked at on the internet, or listened to on the radio. One of the greatest motivations for us to live right should be that one day we will face God and on that day every knee will bow to Him. Even the voices that mock God on this earth will bow their knee to Him one day and confess that He is God. II Corinthians 5:10 says that we ALL will appear before the judgment seat of Christ and receive the things done in our body, according to all that we have done, whether good or bad.

As we think about that day when we stand before God, be reminded of three things:

1. The evidence of your life will be displayed.

2. The excuses you give will be denied.

3. The eternal state of our soul will be declared.

So, let me remind you, “Ready or Not, He is Coming!!! Are you ready???
