Ministries
Whether you are a newcomer to Shenandoah, or a member looking for a place to serve, SBC is blessed to offer a wide variety of opportunities.
Academy
Shenandoah Baptist Academy was founded in 1999 and envisioned as a place where preschool to high school students from families and churches of like faith can receive a quality education within the context of a Biblical worldview. Each subject is presented in light of the absolute truth of the Bible and is taught by faculty who recognize the need to challenge the student’s intellect while impacting the student’s heart. The truth of the Gospel permeates all aspects of the academy, beginning with the invitation to accept God’s love, then continuing with the need to grow in knowledge and develop skills to enable service to Christ within the church and community.
Children’s Bible Clubs
A Wednesday Evening Discipleship Program for ages 3 through 6th grade that incorporates Scripture Memory, Bible Lessons, Music and Games.
Children’s Church
Each week our children enjoy a church service designed just for them. These services are filled with singing, Bible memory activities, Bible lessons, missionary stories, and fun-filled games for them to enjoy. Awards and snacks are given each week to encourage everyone to participate.
The College & Career
This group includes our college age and young professionals who are looking to get a good start to their careers. They are involved in Bible studies, fellowships, a Sunday school class, local and out of town outings, and a yearly retreat in the Smoky Mountains with our pastoral staff. Shenandoah puts an emphasis on this ministry for the purpose of developing our young leaders.
Deaf Ministry
This ministry is design to reach the deaf and the hard of hearing with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our team of interpreters uses the American Sign Language format to provide signing for all our worship services each week. Shenandoah supports several missions for the deaf throughout the U.S. and in other foreign lands.

Senior Adults
Our seniors have several opportunities to get involved in the life of our church. We value their wisdom and we need their influence for the up and coming congregation. We call these great folks our Primetimers. They love to get together for meals, outings to local attractions and even overnight trips. We also have special opportunities and events planned for our widows and widowers.
Sunday School
We want everyone to grow in their understanding of the Bible. Sunday school is designed to look deeper into God’s Word in order to know Christ and His plan for our lives. Classes for every age group (nursery-senior adults) meet on Sundays at 10AM for fellowship, prayer, and Bible study.
Teen Ministries
The teenagers at Shenandoah are a vital part of the life of our church. A caring team of youth leaders meet with them on a weekly basis in a Wednesday night youth program that is packed with Bible teaching, counseling, prayer, fun activities and, of course, food! Our goal is to lead them to accept Christ as their personal Savior and to encourage them to maintain a growing relationship with Him. Each year our teens enjoy a winter retreat, summer Christian camp and other outings and activities that foster Christian fellowship and growth.
Worldwide Missions
Christ’s commission to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations” is preached and practiced at Shenandoah Baptist Church. Our members support missionaries and missions projects through financial offerings and prayer. Several of our members have also been sent out from our church to serve as missionaries.
